WHAT EQUIPMENT WILL MY CHILD NEED TO PLAY LACROSSE?
All players are required to have an active USA Lacrosse Membership.
Boys: Boys field players are required to use a helmet, stick, gloves, shoulder pads, arm pads, a mouthguard and a protective cup. Rib pads are optional. Cleats are also needed. Lacrosse, football, and soccer cleats are all acceptable.
Girls: Minimal equipment is required in girls’ and women’s lacrosse due to its non-contact nature. A stick, mouthguard and protective eyewear are the only required items for most players. Headgear and close fitting gloves are optional for field players. Cleats are also needed. Lacrosse, football, and soccer cleats are all acceptable.
RB Youth Lax has some loaner equipment available for new players. Please reach out to us ASAP as this is on a first come, first serve basis!
Equipment can be purchased at Dick’s Sporting Goods, Lacrosse Unlimited (Solana Beach), or online. Play It Again Sports has some good options for used equipment. Just make sure to ask if it meets the current safety guidelines.
Spring season registration fees range from $210 - $395 depending on age. Additionally, all players are required to have an active USA Lacrosse Membership ($15-$30/year) to register.
Registration includes jersey & all team fees for the season.
PRACTICE TIMES & GAMES
Practices start February 6th at Bernardo Heights Middle School. Both Boys & Girls practice on Mondays & Wednesdays. The BHMS fields are reserved between 4p-6p but practice start time and length will vary based on age group and team preference.
Games are expected to be on Saturdays from the end of February until Mid-May.
WHAT TYPE OF TRAINING DO THE COACHES RECEIVE?
All of our coaches are members of USA Lacrosse and have passed a background check. They have access to specialized training plans and plenty of useful drills.
HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE DOES MY CHILD NEED?
None! We enjoy introducing new players to this fun and dynamic sport.
